What's been nourishing me

It's late August and the past couple of weeks have been full of family fun... it's the time of year when everyone knows that Summer vacation is coming to an end and those long days get shorter and the days turn to hours and to minutes and then in a blink, here we are at the night before school starts again! In the moment I have before I hit the sack, I just want to write about nourishment.  So often, I get caught up in food... what we have, what to make, what I'm hungry for, what will give us the best bang for the buck, what my kids will eat... and while food is incredibly important, what we do between the chews is as important because it is in those regular, crazy, bubbly, sprinkler fun, belly laugh making, boo-boo kissing, day dreaming, bill paying, hand holding, sneak-off-to-the-hammock-in-peace, phone calling, car driving, shower singing, on-you-knees-praying, wine sipping, puddle jumping, stop-to-smell-the-roses, juicy miracle moments that we are truly nourished.  I don't know about you, but in those moments, I am reminded of what I have and what I don't, what my burdens are and what they're not... where I am incredibly blessed and where I am challenged to find opportunity... who I am lucky enough to be loved by and who I am lucky enough to love.
